YouTube, Sevenload & Co. müssen sich in Zukunft warm anziehen. Denn heute startet Microsoft auf MSN Video die betaversion einer eigenen Videoplattform. Soapbox (bisheriger Codenamen "Warhol") bietet ein Upload-Limit von 100 MB in den Videoformaten AVI, ASF, WMV, MOV, MPEG 1/2/4, 3GPP und DV sowie Tags und Kategorien. Zusätzlich wartet er mit RSS-Unterstützung sowie der Integration in Windows Live Spaces auf. Für die Länge von Videos gibt es - anders als bei YouTube - keine Grenzen. In der Pressemitteilung zum Launch heißt es:
